Taking a look at when the 2018 NFL season starts, meaning when the regular season will begin, who will be playing and much more.
The 2018 NFL season has a lot to live up to when it comes to the drama of last year. After long being the ones in the NFC East missing something in their trophy case, the Philadelphia Eagles were able to make a highly improbable run through the NFL Playoffs all the way through topping the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
Of course, what made their run so improbable was the fact that Nick Foles — not Carson Wentz, who suffered a torn ACL late in the season — was starting at quarterback for the Eagles. However, the veteran former Arizona Wildcat showed his poise under head coach Doug Pederson and put forth a master-class run through the postseason. Now comes following that up for the Eagles.
No doubt the Eagles expect to be contenders in the 2018 NFL season. However, they should have plenty of challengers in both the NFC and awaiting down the line in the AFC. Most everyone is healthy at this point, and that means the league is at a better place as we look towards the regular season.
For those fans looking for the start of the 2018 NFL season, the Eagles are relevant as they will be a part of it. On Thursday, Sept. 6, Philadelphia will play host to the Atlanta Falcons to kick off Week 1 and the regular season as a whole. Meanwhile, the rest of the week will be played on Sunday, Sept. 9 and Monday, Sept. 10 with an opening-week double-header on Monday Night Football.
