The preparation for the 2018 season continues for all 32 NFL clubs. So what five additions stand out for the up-and-coming Jacksonville Jaguars?

Until this past season, we had not seen the Jacksonville Jaguars in the playoffs since the 2007 season. That club wound up capturing a wild-card berth with an 11-5 record. Then-head coach Jack Del Rio led the team to a playoff win at Pittsburgh. It was the second time that year the Jaguars went to the Steel City and knocked off Mike Tomlin’s team.

So it was déjà vu all over again this past year, in much more dramatic fashion. Off a 3-13 showing in 2016, head coach Doug Marrone led the club to a 10-6 mark and the franchise’ss first division title since 1999. The Jaguars would stifle the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Wild Card Playoffs and then went to Heinz Field and came up with a wild 45-42 victory in the AFC Divisional Playoffs. Once again, they beat the Steelers in Pittsburgh twice in one season.

Marrone’s squad held a halftime lead at Foxborough in the AFC Championship Game. But the Jaguars couldn’t hold off Tom Brady in the fourth quarter and Jacksonville came up four points short (24-20). They remain one of four current NFL franchises that hasn’t appeared in the Super Bowl. The team hopes to change all that in 2018. So what five players did the Jaguars add this offseason in an attempt to increase their chances of making that trip to Atlanta in early February?
