New York Jets: 5 Players integral to success in 2018
WR, Terrelle Pryor
Terrelle Pryor is dealing with an injury right now, but when healthy, he’s the best receiver on the team. Pryor is the only receiver on the roster who has put up No. 1 receiver caliber numbers at any point in his career. Don’t give me the quarterback excuse for Robby Anderson, because in 2016, when Pryor put up the numbers, the Browns quarterbacks were Cody Kessler, Robert Griffin III and Josh McCown.
In 2016, Pryor had 77 catches, 1,070 yards, and four touchdowns — the quarterbacks combined for 14 touchdown passes on the entire season. Mind you, that was the second season of his life as a receiver, and the transition was at the NFL level.
Having a weapon like that for a rookie who might start Week 1 is key. Pryor being healthy is the other key, but that season in 2016 is proof, when healthy, he can be a dangerous weapon for the Jets offense. Both Quincy Enunwa and Anderson are up and coming still and could break out in 2018, but they need a go-to guy, and it should be Pryor. Pryor is the best receiver on the roster, at the moment, and should be the No. 1 guy when all is said and done.
