Los Angeles Rams: Jared Goff’s rank amongst NFC West quarterbacks?
With the Los Angeles Rams a clear favorite in the NFC West race, it begs the question. Where does Jared Goff rank among his NFC West rivals?
The NFC West is one of the most underrated albeit stacked divisions. With significant changes for each team, there’s a lot of hype going into 2018. Some of the hype surrounding them is their quarterbacks. For the most part, each team is pretty set at quarterback.
One of the most hyped teams in the league is the Los Angeles Rams. They’re the only team in the division who made the playoffs last year. Even though they were one and done, they cemented themselves as a contender. It also began the Jared Goff Era.
Even though it’s only his third year, there’s a lot riding on Goff’s success. In the spirit of Goff and his fellow NFC West quarterbacks, it’s time to see where each rank. For the sake of this list, I’ll be focusing on their success and if the team would struggle without them.

Coming in at No. 4 is Josh Rosen of the Arizona Cardinals. It’s a little bit obvious but Rosen is a rookie. We don’t have any idea of what he’s capable or how he’ll lead the Cardinals. With an arsenal of weapons on offense and Sam Bradford ahead of him, it’s unclear when or if Rosen will play in 2018. As for the team struggling without him, that’s another question mark.
With the obvious one out of the way, it gets a little bit tricky. The remaining teams have solid quarterbacks who have been successful or are poised for success. This might be a controversial choice, but No. 3 is Jimmy Garoppolo of the San Fransisco 49ers.
After being traded to the 49ers, Garoppolo completely turned the team around. He took them from one of the worst to one of the best. Personally, I don’t believe we have a clear picture of Garoppolo and what he can do with the 49ers. 2018 is going to be a true test for him.
His time with the Patriots earned him some Super Bowl rings but came at the cost of losing playing time. With the 49ers, he gets to run a team and try for more Super Bowl rings on his own.
Coming in at No. 2 is Jared Goff of the Los Angeles Rams. Maybe this is a bit of risky pick, but Goff has proven his worth in his sophomore year. After Sean McVay took over, Goff flourished and seems to be on the right track.
He helped guide the team to the playoffs and went toe-to-toe against some of the best defenses in the league. The Rams are a young team and with Goff at the center, the team has a better chance for success. The reason he’s ranked before Garoppolo is because I see him getting the Rams to a Super Bowl before Jimmy G does.

Last, but certainly not least, is Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks. Do I really need to explain this one? Since joining the Seahawks in 2012, he has completely changed the team and quarterbacks in general. He’s a four-time Pro Bowler and a former Super Bowl champion.
He might have had struggles in 2017, but he’s always been able to pick himself back up. 2018 should be no exception even with most of the defense gone. Of all the quarterbacks, there’s no way Wilson couldn’t be ranked No. 1.
