3. Tramon Williams

We’re back with another current player. However, it’s his first stint with the Green Bay Packers that makes Tramon Williams an underrated player.

Now, Williams is seen as a veteran leader. The cornerback knows how to play the game. He can teach the younger talent while still playing at a high enough level to warrant putting him on the field. Not many would argue he brings value to any organization.

Williams was definitely valued heavily during his first stint with the Packers as well. From 2007 through 2014 Williams played a major role in the Green Bay defense. In those eight seasons, he accumulated 395 tackles and 28 interceptions. Williams scored once and even snuck in 4.5 sacks as well.

During that time, Williams was a top-tier cornerback in the sense that the Packers could trust him to cover any receiver. Sure, he had his faults, but every defensive back gets beat. Williams has two honors to his name: A 2010 Pro Bowl nod and a 2007 Week 11 NFC Special Teams player of the week award.

That doesn’t seem like a lot for a top cornerback on a great team. Once again, competition came into play. Charles Woodson of course was a big name, and played for the Packers as well. Then there were names like Darrelle Revis and Champ Bailey.

Tramon Williams has been an above-average cornerback in the NFL his entire career. He’s just never been on the level of those Hall of Famers. Due to that, he went under the radar during his first stint with the Packers. Now that he’s returned, he’s valued in his new role. Don’t forget about the massive contributions he made in the past though.
