Offensive Line: Donald Penn, Kelechi Osemele, Rodney Hudson, Gabe Jackson, Kolton Miller, Brandon Parker, Jon Feliciano, David Sharpe (8)

Notable Omission: Vadal Alexander, Breno Giacomini

Offensive lineman Vadal Alexander will serve a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy. He’s not going to count toward the 53-man roster until it’s time to activate him. Don’t rule out the Raiders waiving him before Week 5.

Oakland boasts great depth on both sides of the trenches. Interior lineman Jon Feliciano could potentially start for other teams in the league, but he’s behind starters Kelechi Osemele, an All-Pro, and Gabe Jackson.

There’s some mystery at both tackle positions. The Raiders have primarily utilized Kolton Miller on the blind side through minicamp. There’s pressure for Donald Penn to return quickly and in shape to compete for his spot.

Why? He’s going up against a first-round pick. Secondly, the team can save $5.3 million in cap space, per Over The Cap, if the club feels comfortable with the rookie taking over and releasing the 35-year-old. The 12th-year veteran comes off another Pro Bowl campaign, so it’s unlikely. However, a lot hinges on his recovery from Lisfranc surgery.

Brandon Parker could emerge as the starting right tackle. The same goes for David Sharpe. Cable raved about him before the intermission. “I’m really excited about David Sharpe. You look at him, and you think, ‘My God, there’s a right tackle that might play in this league for 10 years if he ever captures it.'”

Though it doesn’t seem to be the case, the Raiders should give Miller a legitimate shot to start on the right side. It would make even more sense if Parker doesn’t look the part in pads right away.
