A new football season always kicks off with the NFL Hall of Fame Game, but when will it be played and who will be playing in 2018?
There’s no greater honor for a player in the NFL than to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It’s the crowning achievement that highlights a great career that will be enshrined in Canton, OH for eternity. For many football fans, however, the annual induction ceremony signifies something else: the start of a new NFL season thanks to the NFL Hall of Fame Game.
While it’s truly just a glorified extra preseason game, the NFL Hall of Fame Game always is welcomed with open arms by fans. After not seeing true NFL action on the field since the Super Bowl in February, there is a void that needs to be filled in the lives of fans — they need to see some football being played.
Subsequently, fans tend to look forward to the festivities and the game in Canton, OH. That means that everyone is currently anxiously awaiting the 2018 NFL Hall of Fame Game. So then, when will the game be played and, perhaps more importantly, which two teams will be playing in it?
This year’s rendition of the contest will be played on Thursday, Aug. 2 in Canton and will feature the Chicago Bears taking on the Baltimore Ravens. While these games normally don’t allow us to see much of the starters for a team, this one could be quite fun.
The big reason for the excitement for this matchup is that we’ll get to see Baltimore’s rookie quarterback, Lamar Jackson, in action for this contest. He’s likely to start the year as the backup behind Joe Flacco, which means we’ll get to see the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner showcase his talent.
