Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz will win MVP in 2018.

Had it not been for a torn ACL that ended Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz’s 2017 season, he would have been the NFL MVP. In just his second season in the league, Wentz dominated NFL defenses, making them look silly on countless occasions. Before the knee injury ended his season, Wentz had thrown for 3,296 yards and 33 touchdowns in just 13 games. Those numbers put him on pace for a 4,000 yards and 41 touchdown season.

It remains to be seen if Wentz will be back for Week 1 of the 2018 season, but all signs point to a healthy Wentz for Philly’s season opener. I believe Wentz will be back to start the season and if he is, he will pick up right where he left off. Knee injuries are still significant, but they are no longer what they used to be. Recovery is quicker and more efficient and through all the videos posted of Wentz, it seems he is healthy and ready to get back to work.

There was no quarterback in the league doing what Wentz was doing last season. The way he was able to extend plays in the pocket, deliver strikes with pressure in his face, and continuously make the right play. He will have another year in Doug Pederson’s Super Bowl winning system and will have another year to progress to the speed of the game, which already looks slow to him.

The former No. 2 overall pick studies the game well, and all of his teammates talk about his preparation, so the time off was not wasted. Wentz was voted No. 3 in the NFL Top 100 list by the players in the NFL because they also understand just how good he is, and how great he can be.

I already see the greatness Wentz possesses in his game, but he has room for improvement. That room for improvement is what makes or breaks a player in my opinion, but you see the drive and work ethic Wentz has, so he will keep working hard to get even better. The thought of him getting better should scare NFL defenses. He was dominant in 2017 and was the best player in the NFL. So if he can be even better than that it will be fun to watch him progress even more.

Not only is Wentz extremely talented as a quarterback, but the Eagles have also surrounded him with weapons that will allow him to succeed. Having Alshon Jeffery, Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor, Darren Sproles, Mike Wallace, Jay Ajayi, Corey Clement and Dallas Goedert to help you succeed is a fantastic core. The 2018 Eagles have it all, and they have a right guy to make it all come together: Wentz.

Those weapons will allow him to take another step to become the best player in the NFL. Look for Wentz to throw for over 4,000 yards in 2018 and 40 plus touchdowns. His toughest competition so far in his two-year NFL career has been his body. So if his body holds up in 2018, he will have another big year and win NFL MVP.
