Less than a month away from training camp for all 32 NFL clubs. So what five offseason additions stand out for the Detroit Lions?

There’s been no playoff victory since 1991 and no division title since 1993. And the Detroit Lions remain the only current member of the NFC not to reach the Super Bowl. It has now been over 60 years (1957) since the team from Motown was crowned league champions. In 2017, the club finished 9-7 for the second consecutive season. But that wasn’t enough to secure a playoff invitation and change appeared inevitable.

After four seasons with Jim Caldwell at the helm, two of those resulting in postseason appearances, the Lions now turn to former New England Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia to steer the ship. It’s been an offseason of change when it comes to Detroit’s roster as general manager Bob Quinn and Bill Belichick’s former student look for the right combinations on both sides of the football.

With all 32 teams being more than two months removed and minicamps and OTAs in the rear view mirror as well, the focus is training camp. The Detroit Lions open theirs for the rookies on July 19 and the veteran report one week later.

With the summer upon us, what five additions did the organization makes these past few months that will make a difference?
