With money to spend and 2018 training camp just around the corner, the San Francisco 49ers could soon call upon one of these big-name free agents.

The San Francisco 49ers have been very busy this offseason. Between signing Jimmy Garoppolo to a mega deal and making a few free agency splashes, the buzz has started to grow louder and louder in the Bay Area.

The crazy part is that John Lynch and Co. may not be done.

At this moment, the 49ers still have about $18 million in cap space available (via Spotrac.com). While they could choose to sit on that money for now, I wouldn’t be surprised if they tapped back into the open market before training camp as they look to solidify their status as a team worth taking seriously in the race for the NFC crown.

It just so happens there are a number of big-name players who are still out there waiting to put pen to paper. They’re all available for one reason or another, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t provide value if given the opportunity. In the cases of the five players I’m about to highlight, I believe they could bring something significant to the table for the 49ers.

So with that in mind, let’s dive right into my list of big-name free agents the 49ers could consider signing before training camp gets under way on July 27. Don’t get your hopes up, but I wouldn’t put anything past this brazen front office.
