The rumors are still flying that the Dallas Cowboys and Earl Thomas are meant to be, but if not, here are three other players they could target in a trade

The recent news that Kam Chancellor is in fact retiring due to health issues makes it seem even less likely safety Earl Thomas wants to stay with the Seattle Seahawks. That’s reignited the rumors of the talented safety ending up with the Dallas Cowboys.

Of course, this pairing could still happen, but the fact is the Seahawks have to come down on the asking price. Thomas is an incredibly talented player, but he’s 29 years old, so no team is going to want to give up premium picks for a safety with minimal wear left on the tires.

It’s still worth keeping an eye on and the pairing makes a lot of sense with the Cowboys employing Kris Richard as their defensive backs coach. Richard has been a coach in Seattle since 2010 and after coaching defensive backs exclusively, he became their defensive coordinator. He served in that role for three seasons before finding his way to Big D.

Even if the Cowboys don’t go after Thomas, there are other options that could be available via trade. There’s also players at other positions that can help and here are three such players that could help the Boys compete in 2018.
