Mike Gesicki, TE, Miami Dolphins

With little starting depth at the tight end position, it’s hard to pick a player that is defined as “under the radar”. Yet, if we were to choose a prospect who was underrated in the draft process, Mike Gesicki would fit the mold. With tight end draft talk centering mostly around names like Hayden Hurst and Dallas Goedert, Gesicki comes into the 2018 season as one of the most pro-ready tight ends from the draft.

With exception to Jarvis Landry and Jay Ajayi, fantasy football players typically stay away from the Dolphins offense. With both of the above names gone, targets will need to be replaced, and what better person to take those than Gesicki? Coming off a campaign at Penn State with 57 catches and nine touchdowns in 2017, Gesicki is unlikely to find himself blocking on most plays in Miami’s offense.

With Landry gone and Devante Parker still under-performing, Ryan Tannehill will look to utilize Gesicki’s athletic 6-6 frame, especially near the goal-line. Gesicki has proven to be a playmaker at the end of the line, something the Dolphins have been missing at the tight end position for quite some time. Fantasy football heavily relies on targets, and that’s something the rookie should see plenty of while wearing teal and orange.
