New York Jets: 3 Pro Bowl locks for the 2018 season
New York Jets training camp is just a few weeks away now. Here are three Gang Green players that are locks to make the 2018 Pro Bowl.
It’s almost time everyone. The 2018 New York Jets Training Camp begins on Thursday, July 26, just a few weeks away. Anticipation will be building, you can bet on that.
Can Gang Green bounce back from a dismal 5-11 campaign and become a playoff contender in the AFC? When will rookie quarterback Sam Darnold be ready to take over the reins as New York’s starting signal-caller? Will the addition of Trumaine Johnson elevate their secondary into one of the best in the NFL?
These are all questions that will be answered soon enough. There will be enough time to sort that all out. With that being said, the Jets look like a team that is ready to rise from the ashes and compete for a wild card berth in the AFC.
Here are three players that are a lock to make the Pro Bowl in 2018. That’s right. Take it to the bank. Let’s take a look at this terrific, talented trio:
3. Robby Anderson, WR
The 6-3, 190-pounder possess an element that none of his other teammates have – dynamic game-breaking speed. Anderson enjoyed a breakout season in 2017 with 63 receptions for a team-high 941 yards and seven touchdowns. He needs to build some more muscle on his thin frame but he is a true blazer — a player that can take any play to the house.
The University of Temple product has some hurdles to clear though. He needs to become more mature. Let’s not forget that he’s been arrested twice and has had several traffic-related violations over the last few years. He has to grow up.
Anderson must also become a more productive performer in the middle of the field on short and intermediate routes. He’s great on fly/post patterns but he needs to help move the chains more often on slant and out routes.
Look for Anderson to really blossom in his third NFL campaign. He’s has a world of ability. I expect the Teaneck, NJ native to compile 1,200 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns this coming season. He’s ready to take the next step. He’ll make his first Pro Bowl in 2018.
