Los Angeles Rams: Who is their biggest NFC West worry?
The Los Angeles Rams exceeded all expectations set for them in 2017 and look to do the same in 2018. Regardless, the NFC West still remains a challenge.
The Los Angeles Rams are the team to beat in the NFC West. Last year, they exceeded any and all expectations we had for them. Even though they were one and done in the playoffs, they still had an incredibly successful season.
So far in the offseason, they have acquired some key players and look to retake the NFC West crown. Despite being a powerful team, they’re part of an immensely talented division. Besides the Rams, the NFC West includes 2 teams poised for success while the other is a wild card.
Considering how hyped up the Rams are, they’re the clear favorite. That doesn’t mean they don’t have any worries in the NFC West, though. It’s time to break down all of the teams and which team poses the biggest challenge this upcoming season.
Speaking of the wild card, it’s time to talk about the Arizona Cardinals. Of all the teams, it’s unclear what’s going on with the Cardinals. Last season, they finished 8-8 and lost multiple stars to injury. The only bright spot for the team was their defense, but poor offensive play bogged the team down.

Heading into 2018, their offense is still up in the air. They’ll hopefully get David Johnson back, but have question marks at both quarterback and receiver. Of the three teams, I see the Cardinals being the least of the Rams worries.
Moving onto the other two teams, this is where it gets tough. Both the Seahawks and the 49ers are promising, but lack some key elements. Ultimately, it comes down to which team poses the bigger threat to the Rams.
An argument could be made for both teams, but it has to be the Seattle Seahawks. The team has changed so dramatically this season. They lose almost all of their superstars on defense, still have a poor offensive line and can’t get their offense going. Looking back at last season, the Rams lost once at the beginning of the season.
By the middle of the season, the Seahawks had already begun to fall apart. Similar to the Cardinals, they’re kind of in limbo. However, they have the edge as Russell Wilson still plays at a high level. Ultimately, it will depend on if Wilson’s play can help keep the team afloat. They still pose a challenge for the NFC West, though.
The team that should worry the Rams the most is the San Francisco 49ers. Despite a poor record in 2017, the 49ers are on the upswing. Unlike last season, the team has all the pieces in place for success. With solid additions to offense and defense along with Jimmy G at the helm, there’s a lot to worry about.

Looking back to 2017, the 49ers asked Garoppolo to deliver and he did. He helped them win six of their last seven games so things are looking good. Add in Richard Sherman and it’s a recipe for success. Of all the teams, the Rams should be the most worried about the 49ers.
Regardless, the NFC West has proved to be a tough division. Yes, the Rams are an early favorite but there’s a case for the 49ers, too. The Rams will have to prove 2017 wasn’t just a fluke.
