The Washington Redskins begin training camp in just under three weeks and three questions surround them in the weeks ahead.

It’s that time of the year again. The NFL calendar is quiet and as teams around the league are just weeks away from the beginning of the 2018 NFL season. Most training camps begin during the third week of July and then we are off to the races.

The Washington Redskins head into training camp with several questions, but, fortunately, the quarterback is not one of them. Alex Smith signed a new long-term deal with the Redskins when he was acquired early this offseason.

That doesn’t mean the Redskins enter training camp without questions, though. As with every team, the Redskins have numerous questions on both sides of the ball as head coach Jay Gruden enters a critical fifth year of his tenure. Gruden has made the playoffs just one time during his first four years even though he inherited a disaster when taking over in 2014.

Washington made several big personnel decisions in the offseason, letting several former starters, such as Bashuad Breeland, Trent Murphy and Niles Paul walk in free agency. The Redskins also traded, arguably, their best corner in Kendall Fuller to get Smith to D.C. The biggest offseason acquisitions were Paul Richardson and the 2018 draft class.

Here are three burning questions facing the 2018 Washington Redskins as training camp approaches.
