Thanks in part to a pair of pivotal free agent departures last offseason, as well as poor play from the entire unit overall, the Cincinnati Bengals have made a concerted effort to fix one of the inept offensive lines in the league from 2017. A year ago, the team lost left tackle Andrew Whitworth to the Los Angeles Rams and right guard Kevin Zeitler to the Cleveland Browns.

So in 2018, two of the team’s biggest offseason additions have come in regards to this group. Ohio State University center Billy Price was a key performer for the Buckeyes. The Bengals opted to grab him with the 21st overall selection in April and he figures to make an immediate impact in replacing free-agent defector Russell Bodine.

This was a Cincinnati team that finished dead last in the NFL in total offense this past season. And only the Detroit Lions gained fewer yards on the ground in 2017. Add in the fact that the Bengals allowed 40 sacks and you can see the problems surrounding this attack. Price figures to bring a little attitude to a team in dire need of help up front.

“Man, he is a different kind of guy altogether,” an AFC team pro personnel director told NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein earlier this year. “Has a lot of edge for sure. Love his toughness and his grit and wait until you see him at the combine. He might hit 40 on the bench and he’s going to run well too.”

Speaking of the Combine, Price suffered a pectoral injury in Indianapolis during the process. But he’s been given medical clearance (via ESPN).
