Still riding the high of their Super Bowl LII win, the Philadelphia Eagles seem carefree but with their division loaded up, they have a lot to worry about.

Going into 2017, no one predicted the Philadelphia Eagles would win the Super Bowl and it’s still surreal to some fans. With their Super Bowl win, the team not only won their first ring but became the final team in their division to win one. Currently, no other divisions include teams who’ve all won a Super Bowl.

Sadly, the regular season is still months away. Between the other three teams in the NFC East, the Eagles will have their hands full. Each has made strides and big moves to win their chance. Of all the teams, who poses the biggest challenges for the Eagles to overcome?

Among the trio of teams, there is only one outlier. The Washington Redskins have made the most drastic change in the entire division. They traded for Alex Smith and let go of Kirk Cousins. Additionally, the team hasn’t made moves on defense and it could prove disastrous.

While getting a new quarterback isn’t a death statement, it gives the other teams an advantage. As for the Eagles-Redskins matchups, the Eagles were victorious in both games and look to keep the streak alive into 2018. Of all the teams, I see the Redskins as the one who will struggle most against the Eagles.

Moving onto the other two teams, it’s hard to pick which is a bigger challenge. The New York Giants had an abysmal season but their fate could change. As for the Dallas Cowboys, the loss of Ezekiel Elliott for six games was deadly. Between the two teams, one does pose a bigger threat.

The Giants were poised for success last year and didn’t deliver. New York could barely win a game last year. This year, they overhauled their coaching staff and added a new secret weapon. Despite the addition of Saquon Barkley, the team still struggles with poor offensive line play.

Coupled with an underperforming defense, the Giants are in limbo. They still have Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr. and now, Saqoun. Even so, the Giants have an uphill climb, especially against the Eagles. While the games were close, the Eagles were victorious but don’t count the Giants out yet. Saquon is poised for a huge rookie year and the Eagles could have their hands full.

The team that worries me the most is the Dallas Cowboys. The team struggled last season without Ezekiel Elliott along with a lack of chemistry between the offense and poor defensive play. Regardless, they have all the pieces but haven’t been able to form a clear strategy.

Now in their third year together, Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott look to take back control off the NFC East. The Cowboys did lose some key players and will likely have some defensive struggles. Even so, they have the best chance at going toe-to-toe with the Eagles.

Back in 2016, the Cowboys and Eagles were a must-watch rivalry. Hopefully, 2018 proves to be another big year for them. If not, it’s still a rating goldmine and the NFL won’t stop that. 2018 will be the year for the Eagles to prove they deserve a second chance to be champions.
