The New York Jets have 15 rookies on the roster heading into camp. Let’s examine the top three that could make an impact on the team on 2018.

The New York Jets have one of the youngest teams in the NFL. So it should be no surprise to anyone that their current camp roster is 16.7 percent (15/90) rookies.

There are two questions about these rookies:

  1. How many will break camp on the roster?
  2. Can any of them truly make an impact in 2018?

The answer to the first question is hopefully most of the draft picks, because then the Jets did something right in the draft. The answer to the second question is, yes.

However, how much of an impact is determined by how the Jets do as a whole and your own perception of what their impact truly was come December. In the end, there’s a chance the Jets could have a Rookie of the Year candidate, but that’s a longshot.

Let’s examine the rookies, shall we.

3. Dimitri Flowers, FB

If there is word that comes to mind when it comes to Flowers, it’s versatility. He can catch passes, run routes, block, and run with the football. He will be a good weapon for Sam Darnold — if he starts early — to have as a safety valve.

Flowers can give the Jets a little of everything. He’s a Swiss Army knife, and will do whatever is asked of him. He gives the Jets a true weapon. He can make a huge impact, if he makes the team.
