Arizona Cardinals: Top 5 offseason additions, post 2018 NFL Draft
It is summer and the NFL preseason is less than one month away. So what five additions stand out for the busy Arizona Cardinals this offseason?
It is a team that almost seems like an afterthought in the division that has been receiving a lot of attention this offseason. The defending NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams went out and acquired the likes of Ndamukong Suh and trade for not only wide receiver Brandin Cooks but cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib.
The San Francisco 49ers won their final five games in 2017 after a 1-10 start and quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has been heralded as the next big thing in the Bay Area. And Pete Carroll’s Seattle Seahawks always get a lot of attention. A year ago, the team missed the playoffs for the first time since 2011 and has done some serious house cleaning this offseason.
So what about the Arizona Cardinals and new head coach Steve Wilks, who takes over for the retired Bruce Arians? He inherits a team that has made substantial changes all over its roster — most notably at quarterback. The team has a new pair of coordinators in Mike McCoy (offense) and Al Holcomb (defense). It does come off and respectable 8-8 showing. But it took wins in the final two weeks for the Cards to get to the. 500 mark.
Regardless, it is a new year and a new start for the team in the desert. So what five additions did the club make this offseason that stand out the most?
