Larry Fitzgerald wants to be a career Arizona Cardinals player, and only that.

There is no doubt that Larry Fitzgerald is a true hall of fame wide receiver. Fitzgerald is continuing to produce at an elite level. Since the 2015 season, he has caught over 100 passes each season with 109, 107, and 109.

In August, Fitzgerald turns thirty five years old. Although he has played in the Super Bowl, he doesn’t have a NFL championship ring. It doesn’t appear that he is chasing a ring.

Jace Frederick of twincities.com reports Fitzgerald comments:

"“If I’m not playing in Arizona, I won’t be playing anywhere,” he said. “I’ve built a good life for myself down there. Playing in the same place for 15 years is a true blessing.”"

First of all, he owns all the Cardinals receiving records. He has caught more passes for more receiving yards for more touchdowns in Cardinals history. He holds those records by huge margins that may never be matched.

Jim Bakken holds the franchise record for playing in 234 games. Bakken kicked from 1962 through 1978 for the Cardinals. Fitzgerald can tie Bakken’s record if he plays in all 16 regular season games.

Perhaps, playing his career for Arizona means something to him. Seems like everyone is in heavy pursuit of the championship ring. Fitzgerald says that he will be a career Cardinals wide receiver.

Who would blame him for adding a Super Bowl victory to his resume’? His loyalty to Arizona is to be commended but will the Cardinals organization reciprocate that loyalty? Let’s hope so.

Currently, Fitzgerald is under contract through this season. Unless he gets hurt, his production level will not suffer. He deserves more than a year to year deal because of his loyalty. Fitzgerald is the face of the franchise and should remain as a community ambassador after his playing days are done.
