New York Jets offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates finds him self in a rare situation. He can actually play chess with the Jets offense.

New York Jets offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates in a rarified air when it comes to the team. The Jets offense is getting just as much buzz as their defense in 2018. That doesn’t happen much in the history of this franchise, because they’ve been typically known as a defense driven team.

In this episode of the JetUp Bleeding Green Podcast, Michael Pallas discusses the pressure Bates is under to help lead a successful offense, despite being a first-year coordinator, and potentially having a rookie quarterback. The pressure lies in the ability to potentially use two players and the wide receivers the right way.

When it comes to the defense, however, Kacy Rodgers has less moving parts, but a dilemma. He has an opportunity to make the most of the defense by determining which rookie will give him the best chance to win, and also he has two guy who have an opportunity to make permanent switches and make an impact on this defense.
