It is July and that means NFL training camps are starting to open. So what five additions stand out for the intriguing San Francisco 49ers?

They enter the 2018 NFL season with the longest current winning streak in the league. After a forgettable 1-10 start, the San Francisco 49ers closed 2017 with five consecutive victories. Along the way they knocked off the playoff-bound Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars. They closed the year by rolling the NFC West champion Los Angeles Rams, although to be fair Sean McVay’s club rested a great many of his starters in Week 17.

Nevertheless, there is a lot of excitement surrounding a club that has finished last in the NFC West in each of the past three seasons. The 49ers also haven’t been to the postseason since losing the 2013 NFC Championship Game at Seattle. All told, Head coach Kyle Shanahan begins his second season on the job and many feel that his club could unseat the talented Rams for a division title this fall. Yes, expectations are extremely high.

In order to rebound from a 6-10 finish and unseat McVay and company, the Niners were going to need some additional talent. So what were the five additions did aggressive general manager John Lynch make this offseason that will prove to be the most beneficial to his roster?
