Jacksonville Jaguars: Malik Jackson makes a very bold prediction
By Larry Brake
Malik Jackson is predicting perfection for the Jacksonville Jaguars, which is most certainly a bold proclamation for the defensive stalwart.
Once again, Malik Jackson is making bold predictions about the Jacksonville Jaguars 2018 season. Remember last season, after a 3-13 campaign, Jackson predicted a Jaguars in the Super Bowl scenario. They got extremely close.
Jackson is beginning his third season as a Jaguars player. Since signing as a free agent in 2016, he has helped molded the Jacksonville defense into an elite unit. Most of all, his passion is unbridled for the Jaguars.
After winning a Super Bowl in Denver, he arrived to play with the NFL’s lovable losers. It had been a long time since Jacksonville had playoff aspirations. Jackson had played in eight playoff games fro 2012 through 2015.
Yet, after the miserable 2016 season, Jackson predicted a Super Bowl appearance. Many complimented his positive attitude. But Jackson saw something positive was in the works for Jacksonville. He was right about the new direction.
Doug Marrone and Tom Coughlin have re-engineered the Jaguars culture. Dave Caldwell has stockpiled the roster. Last season validated each contribution from the front office, coaches, and players.
As you are aware, New England defeat Jacksonville in the AFC Championship Game. Seems like the battle cry has become, “Myles Jack was not down!” Moving on though, next week is the beginning of training camp and the push to the playoffs.
Predicting a Super Bowl appearance is one thing, but going 16-0 is another. Ask New England how cool it is to go 16-0, but lose in the Super Bowl — especially to a Coughlin led New York Giants team, again.
Only the Miami Dolphins achieved the perfect season in 1972. They went 14-0 in the regular season. They claimed perfection after defeating Washington 14-7. They repeated as Super Bowl champions in 1973 with a 12-2 regular season record. They have two championships and Jacksonville has zero.

To run the table in the regular season is tough to do but winning the Lombardi Trophy is the goal. Jackson’s confidence level is extremely high. If the Jaguars win the Super Bowl with an 11-4 record, who is going to chastise Jackson concerning his prediction? Let the season begin!
