After the recent retirement of Darrelle Revis, some are already calling him the best player in the history of the New York Jets franchise, but is he?

The New York Jets have had some good players, bad players, average players and two — as of now — Pro Football Hall of Famers. The recently retired Darrelle Revis is definitely among the best to ever don the green and white (or purple and gold).

The Titans/Jets franchise has been littered with good NFL talent, and they have one Super Bowl win to show for it. That said, to narrow the list down to five is a very difficult task. Revis belongs on the list, but where?

Let’s take a look.

5. Kevin Mawae

There’s a reason Kevin Mawae was a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year. He’s one of the best to ever play in the NFL. So, there’s no reason to keep him off this list.

Mawae was a brilliant and athletic center who helped lead the way for a historic run (no pun intended) by Curtis Martin. If you were to rank all-time centers in the league, Mawae would be near the top of the list. So, he’s a must on this countdown.
