No. 1: Alex Smith

Gone are the days of debating whether or not the quarterback wants to stay with the Redskins. Alex Smith is glad to be the quarterback for the Washington Redskins. And fans are glad to have him. Forget the debate of whether or not Smith is better than Cousins. That will be determined on the field. For now, Washington fans are excited to get a look at their new quarterback.

Not only is Washington getting a good quarterback, it is getting a hungry one, too. Smith has a lot to prove after being traded from Kansas City after a career year which saw him emerge as an MVP candidate.

The team is excited, too, as Thompson shared with Kimberley Martin of The Washington Post.

"He’s a quiet leader, but there’s just something about him that makes you want to step your game up even that much more. I can’t even pinpoint it. It’s just that it’s Alex Smith. You can’t help but to get excited about it. I’m big on having a feel for people, and it’s just different with him. he locker room feels different. The guys feel different."
