1. The right side of the offensive line

The Vikings open 2018 with the offensive line being arguably their worst position group. Veteran guard/center Joe Berger retired, which leaves a massive void at a positional group already desperate for help. Berger had been with the Vikings for the last seven seasons, and only missed two total snaps in 2017.

Nick Easton, a reliable left guard, suffered a broken ankle in Week 16. The third-year pro may have an uphill battle gaining back his full strength before the 2018 season starts, although he’ll likely assume the starting spot on the left side.

So who will protect the right interior against some of the most lethal defensive linemen in the league? After all, the Vikings’ interior will face Jurrell Casey, DeForest Buckner, Mike Daniels, Kenny Clark, Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, Fletcher Cox, Cameron Jordan and Akiem Hicks — all of whom are Pro Bowl-caliber players that line up inside.

Players who should be in the race to start on the right side at guard include Danny Isidora, Colby Gossett and Tom Compton. Another possibility is moving right tackle Mike Remmers inside to guard and placing Rashod Hill or rookie Brian O’Neill on the outside. However it shakes out, the Vikings will need someone to step up.
