10. Detroit Lions: Zach Allen, Boston College, DE

It looks like the Detroit Lions have Ezekiel Ansah, at least for another season. There seems to be some issues between the defensive end and his team though, which could have the Lions looking for more talent at the position in the near future.

Zach Allen could be a smart place to look. The Boston College defensive end is a huge bodied player and has a ton of upside at the NFL level. He’s much better against the run but is still quick off the snap and an able pass rusher.

In time, he will develop more at getting after the passer, but from his first day in the NFL, he will be a starter as he can improve any defenses ability against the run. Detroit needs improvement in this area, surrendering 112.5 yards on the ground in 2017. They could also get better at defending the pass which could happen in 2018.

With a full season under his belt, cornerback Jalen Tabor is ready for a bigger role in the defense for Detroit. They also still have Darius Sly who is an underrated player. Overall though, getting a defensive end could improve all facets of their defense and Zach Allen is one of the best in this draft.
