16. Houston Texans: Noah Fant, Iowa, TE

A position of weakness for the Houston Texans took another hit when C.J. Fiedorowicz had to call it a career this offseason. Concussions continued to be an issue for him and while it was a good call for him personally, it has to hurt for the team that can’t get this position solidified.

In order to try and do that, they go back to the same school they found Fiedorowicz at and select Iowa’s Noah Fant. He’s the opposite player as their recently retired tight end as Fant is a more polished receiver than blocker at this point. He broke out in 2017 with 10 touchdowns and can continue to be a threat receiving at the next level.

Another strong season should cement him as the best in the class, but he will have to get better blocking to be a complete tight end. He has a good build that should allow him to add more bulk to be able to do that, but even as a pure pass catcher he can help the Texans out.

Quarterback Deshaun Watson will return from an ACL year that ended his rookie season as it was taking off. Getting him even more weapons will only serve to make him better as they look to get back on top of the AFC South.
