21. Tennessee Titans: Austin Bryant, Clemson, EDGE

The fourth Clemson Tiger defensive lineman gets his name called in the opening round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Austin Bryant is the final member of this unit to land with a pro team and it’s the Tennessee Titans who come calling.

This front-four of the Tigers is impressive — which is why they all hear their names on day one — and Clelin Ferrell and Bryant are the ones who do the most damage to opposing quarterbacks. In 2017, Bryant broke out once he became a full-time starter. He recorded 50 tackles and 8.5 sacks off the edge.

Sure, some will say the Titans will steer clear because of how they were burnt by Kevin Dodd, another former Clemson Tiger who failed to reach his potential with Tennessee and thus was recently released. However, these are two different players and should be treated as such.

Looking at Bryant for who he is, and not for who played before him, shows a smart and savvy player. He can hold up against the run but also provides plenty of quarterback pressure. The biggest concern will be how much of his success came from the team around him.

At least for the Titans, the good news there is they’ve been building a strong defense. That means Bryant will still have plenty of help as he continues to make plays in the pros.
