22. Carolina Panthers: Jonah Williams, Alabama, OT

Another team that could really stand to upgrade at left tackle is the Carolina Panthers. When they were 15-1 a couple seasons back, they had some help on the blindside with Michael Oher. After he was unable to go in 2016, they fell off as quarterback Cam Newton struggled to stay upright.

Last season they had some improvement and again made the postseason. Not coincidentally, they had better play at tackle after signing Matt Kalil. He’s not a long-term answer though, so the Panthers try to fix it for the foreseeable future with Alabama’s Jonah Williams.

A solid player in both the run and pass game, Williams will help improve the Panthers offense as a whole. According to Jon Dove from With the First Pick, he can be plugged in as the franchise player on the left side.

"“Overall, Williams has the raw athleticism and overall talent to be a franchise left tackle in the NFL. He could stand to get a little strong and clean up some small aspects of his game. However, this is a pretty clean prospect.” — Dove, With The First Pick"

For Carolina, this will be huge as it ends a lot of what’s plagued them on the field in recent seasons.
