Fantasy Football Rankings: 5 Big-name quarterbacks to avoid at all costs
4. Sam Bradford, Arizona Cardinals
Current ADP: N/A
2017 Average Points Per Game: 1.7
I want to say that this one has a bit of a caveat with it. I would avoid drafting Sam Bradford at all costs. However, if you’re looking for an emergency replacement off the waiver wire, Bradford wouldn’t be the worst choice assuming he’s healthy.
That’s the problem, though. Throughout his NFL career, Bradford has been unable to stay off the injury report. The Arizona Cardinals signed him to be their starter, but even they put a contingency plan in place by signing Mike Glennon and drafting Josh Rosen. In three of his last five seasons, Bradford has spent time on Injured Reserve. Not very promising, is it?
So again, that’s why I would not be willing to use a draft pick on Bradford. However, at this moment, it’s looking like he isn’t really being considered. So let’s say your starting quarterback gets hurt prior to Week 1 and you’re not confident in your backup. If Bradford’s available, he may be worth a roll of the dice for a couple of weeks.
Tread lightly with this one. Bradford is one of the NFL’s most injury-prone quarterbacks. At the same time, he is a legitimate Top 15 talent when healthy and on his game. My advice: don’t draft him unless you have an appetite for disappointment.
