NFL 2018: Biggest obstacle each team must overcome

Dallas Cowboys: Prescott recovering from sophomore slump
As mentioned before, the Cowboys ended up being one of the biggest surprise teams to fall short of reaching the playoffs when considering this team had Super Bowl expectations at the beginning of the season after finishing with the best record in the NFC the year before. Numerous factors came into play over why Dallas was unable to live up to expectations, but the difference maker over whether this team can bounce back will fall on Prescott at quarterback.
After replacing Tony Romo during his rookie season in 2016, the Cowboys felt confident enough they made the right decision going with the youngster at quarterback. And while this could still end up being the case, Prescott faces additional pressure heading into his third NFL season to show Dallas won’t be feeling any regrets.
The fact that Prescott failed to throw a single touchdown pass in six games last season was one of a few examples as to how he took a major step back when compared to his rookie campaign. Dez Bryant and Jason Witten may no longer be part of the picture, but with Elliott in the backfield along with a group of receivers looking to breakout, Prescott will hopefully bounce back.
