Houston Texans: Watt, Watson remaining healthy

Between Deshaun Watson and J.J. Watt, the argument can be made that no team was hit with the injury bug more last season than the Houston Texans since this team could have been a lot of fun to watch if they didn’t lose so many key players to injuries. With a full offseason to recover, the Texans hope key players like Watson and Watt can remain healthy so the Texans will have a legitimate shot to bounce back as a contender in the AFC.

For years, Houston was always considered to have one of the league’s top defenses led by Watt, but poor play at the quarterback position was always the one area holding the team back from being a true Super Bowl threat. Season after season, the Texans always struggled to find consistent play at the quarterback position, but early signs point to Watson being well worth the wait after all these years.

Chances are that if Watson didn’t suffer a torn ACL in the middle of the 2017 season, he most likely would have gone on to win Offensive Rookie of the Year since the numbers he was putting up were absolutely ridiculous. Running the football as much may not be the best idea, but with the group of receivers he has to work with, Watson will be just fine on offense for the Texans.
