Chicago Bears: Make sure Trubisky takes major step forward

During the 2017 NFL Draft, the Chicago Bears pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the first round after moving up a spot to select Mitch Trubisky, mainly due to all of the money they spent in free agency on Mike Glennon. With all due respect to the veteran quarterback, Trubisky was the much better option from a potential perspective, and after receiving some benefit of the doubt as a rookie, there will be no more excuses for the North Carolina product in 2018.

Chicago knew they didn’t exactly provide Trubisky with the best weapons to work with last season other than Jordan Howard, but after upgrading the receiving corps with players like Allen Robinson and Trey Burton, the Bears quarterback is going to see a major difference on offense.

While Robinson is looking to bounce back after suffering a torn ACL opening week last year, Burton is coming off a Super Bowl win with the Eagles, and looks determined to show he’s ready to be more involved as an effective pass-catching tight end. In other words, it’s easy to understand why it’s going to be tough to defend Trubisky if the struggles on offense continue like his rookie season.
