3. QB Kirk Cousins

Current ADP: 92.4

Honestly, I’m a bit torn when it comes to Kirk Cousins’ fantasy value. There are plenty of pros, but there are also some cons. So how about we talk through it, and you can decide for yourself if he’s worth targeting on draft day?

On the pros side, we’ve got a couple of things that stand out. Cousins is obviously an exceptional, productive quarterback who has thrown for over 4,000 yards in each of his last three seasons. On top of that, he’s got an excellent arsenal of weapons to work with. DeFilippo also figures to put him in the best position to excel. Sounds great, right?

Now here are the cons. The Vikings’ offensive line is far from inspiring, which could force Cousins to throw under pressure a lot in 2018. In case you’re unaware, he’s had a tough time handling pressure and protecting the ball as a result. Minnesota also figures to lean heavily on the ground game this year, which could limit his chances to sling it. Finally, the Vikings boast an outstanding defense that will keep Cousins from getting into numerous shootouts throughout the year.

Plenty of valid points on each side. So what’s the conclusion? I’m going with high-risk, high-reward fantasy option who could carry you to the championship or keep you out of the playoffs. If I had to make a prediction, though, I’d put money on the former. Cousins is too talented, DeFilippo is too great a coach, and the Vikings’ receivers are too extraordinary.

There’s some risk, but Cousins should be the real deal in fantasy this season.
