Fantasy Football Rankings 2018: Vikings’ most tantalizing draft targets
2. TE Kyle Rudolph
Current ADP: 87.4
As I already spelled out earlier, DeFilippo loves to incorporate tight ends into his offenses. Last year, Ertz was the star of the Eagles’ passing game despite the presence of players such as Alshon Jeffery and Nelson Agholor.
Suffice it to say, Kyle Rudolph will have as many opportunities to reward fantasy owners as he wants. Vikings fans have been waiting for that truly sensational season from the 2011 second-round pick for years. Could this finally be when Rudolph puts it all together and moves from Tier 2 to Tier 1 of NFL tight ends?
It seems like it. Especially with Cousins likely to be getting rid of the ball early, Rudolph should see the pigskin flying his way often. The secondary will be split trying to keep Thielen and Diggs contained, allowing the Vikings’ star tight end to go streaking up the middle for big yards.
It helps Rudolph’s case even more when you consider that Minnesota doesn’t have any other dangerous receiving weapons at tight end. David Morgan, the No. 2 tight end, is an excellent blocker who isn’t used excessively in the passing game. Rookie Tyler Conklin offers some upside as a second pass-catching tight end, but may not see a ton of action as a raw rookie.
Either way you look at it, this could be a huge year for Rudolph. Expect him to rack up plenty of yards and touchdowns on his way to what could be his best season yet.
