It’s still early in training camp, but these five players are already making their presence known with the 2018 version of the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a lot of press that’s less than ideal in recent seasons. First, there was the discussion about quarterback Ben Roethlisberger considering retirement, which in itself is understandable since he’s in his mid-30s and has really taken a beating in his career thanks to his style of play that leads to him taking excessive hits.

What got weird was when Big Ben seemed to get his feelings hurt about the team drafting quarterbacks in consecutive seasons. First, it was Josh Dobbs out of Tennessee in 2017 and then in 2018, they took Mason Rudolph. That blew over quick though and the team hopes to be covered whenever the two-time Super Bowl champ does call it a career.

That news was more noise than anything, but the real bad press is coming from the holdout with running back Le’Veon Bell. He wants more money than the team is willing to pay and it looks like this will be his last season with the team — and they still don’t know when he will show up.

With Bell gone, we look at the players they have at camp and highlight five players who have been standing out early on.
