The Cleveland Browns traded Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills. It wasn’t surprising to see him moved, but the timing was odd, to say the least.
The summer of John Dorsey continues. The new boss for the Cleveland Browns made yet another move as he shipped maligned wide receiver Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills.
It’s just another move by the new general manager who has already sent away quarterback DeShone Kizer and defensive tackle Danny Shelton — not to mention many other players who weren’t full-time starters.
The move was reported by Adam Schefter of ESPN, who says the Browns will get a draft pick in exchange for Coleman, but didn’t disclose what round that pick will be.
Cleveland is trading former first-round pick WR Corey Coleman to the Buffalo Bills for a draft pick, per source.

Coleman was the player the Browns selected after trading the No. 2 overall pick to Philadelphia so the Eagles could draft Carson Wentz.
It’s not surprising since Coleman has been on the outs for a while now. Despite being a first-round pick in 2016, Coleman never became a dangerous weapon and often struggled with health. There were also mixed reports about how he looked during OTAs and training camp this season.
While his departure isn’t a shock, the timing seems a bit odd. There were rumors he would be moved during the draft, but nothing materialized. Other rumors popped up afterward, but again the Browns kept going about their business as usual with Coleman part of the team.
Now with their first preseason game just days away, they shipped him to Buffalo. Maybe it’s a sign they know Josh Gordon will be back sooner than later, or perhaps they’re much higher on rookie Antonio Callaway than we know.
Other factors could come into play like maybe they’ll reignite their interest in free agent Dez Bryant — who they reportedly have had discussions on.
All we know for sure is Coleman is finally gone, even if the timing of the move is a bit of a head-scratcher.
