NFL 2018: Every team’s biggest training camp battle

Los Angeles Rams: Linebacker
The 2018 NFL offseason was the season of the Los Angeles Rams. They made all sorts of headlines throughout the offseason as they continued to add talent to a team that surprised us all and won the NFC West last year. They won on the strength of their offensive guru head coach Sean McVay and he now has another great weapon.
The Rams added receiver Brandin Cooks in a deal with the New England Patriots and he will be an upgrade over Sammy Watkins, who they let walk in free agency. Then on defense, they also got some new players.
Cornerbacks Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters make the team better as a whole as does defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh. The Rams basically went out and picked up a ton of people and then paid all of them — except for Aaron Donald who has actually performed for them, but that’s for another day.
One area they didn’t address was the middle linebacker. Mark Barron is a converted safety who could still line up there and a couple rookies to watch include Micah Kiser and Tegray Scales. If either of them can step up and become weapons in Wade Phillips’ 3-4 defense it could transform their entire unit.
