Miami Dolphins: Wide Receiver

The Miami Dolphins paid good money this offseason for Danny Amendola, formerly of the New England Patriots. He’s a great route runner and always stepped up when the Pats needed him most. In Miami, he will become a go-to slot receiver for a team needing a shot in the arm on offense.

He can also help Kenny Still and DeVante Parker get more favorable matchups. It’s just none of them are guaranteed anything. In addition to Amendola, the Dolphins added Albert Wilson from the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s not a big name player, but he is one who does his job well and got enough of the Dolphins attention to earn a three-year deal.

With those four receivers and rookie tight ends Mike Gesicki and Durham Smythe in town, quarterback Ryan Tannehill is suddenly low on excuses for not moving the ball more in 2018. It isn’t like he really had any good ones in the past, but now there seems to be none.

As for the most open battle though, it will be all about trying to decide which receivers are on the field most and who gets the majority of the pass targets coming their way.
