Minnesota Vikings: Kicker

This may be the least exciting battle going on, but that’s what happens when you have the team the Minnesota Vikings do. After locking up Stefon Diggs, the team now has some serious talent locked up for the next three seasons as pointed out by Field Yates.

So with defensive end, wide receiver, quarterback, running back, cornerback and linebacker looking pretty good, the options for camp battles are minimal. Sure, some players are fighting to prove they deserve snaps and can get them, but the starters are in place.

With maybe the exception of the placekicker. This has been an area of concern for a while now, ever since Blair Walsh fell apart. They seem to have things figured out with Kai Forbath who has his on 88.7 percent of his field goals in 23 games with the Vikings. But, they did draft a kicker this season for a reason.

Daniel Carlson out of Auburn has a shot to unseat Forbath, mainly because the veteran has been bad at extra points. In his short time with the team, he’s gone 45-of-53 on the point after try. That’s opened the door for their biggest, but probably most uneventful, camp battle.
