Carolina Panthers: Offensive Line

The recent injury early on in camp to right tackle Daryl Williams was devastating for the Carolina Panthers. As it stood with Williams, this line was suspect at best and he was their lone player that seemed to not only have his job locked down, but to be doing it incredibly well.

With Williams out, the Panthers will turn to Taylor Moton to be the starting right tackle. Moton was a second-round pick, so it’s not like there’s a bum being thrown out there, but it does severely limit their depth since he would have been their swing tackle.

Tackle isn’t their worst spot though — even though left tackle Matt Kalil severely unperformed in 2017. The biggest issue will be left guard where they have to try and replace Andrew Norwell, who was their best lineman last season.

Amini Silatolu and Jeremiah Sirles seem to be the two favorites for the job. Sirles has some experience as a starter, but not much. Silatolu has more experience but hasn’t been the regular starter since his rookie season back in 2012.

This one won’t be easy to decide and as far as tackle goes, they may need to look to the waiver wires for some depth there to replace Williams.
