3. RB Marshawn Lynch

Current ADP: 63.8

Man, I am not fond of the Raiders’ fantasy options this season. I’m vehemently against drafting Carr. Cooper is far too inconsistent to rely on. While I’m not nearly as against the idea of taking Marshawn Lynch off the board, it still seems like a questionable decision.

There just wasn’t a whole lot to be excited about with him in 2018. Sure, he gained a respectable amount of yards, averaged 4.3 yards per carry and struck paydirt on seven different occasions. As a whole, though, he was a middle-of-the-road running back whose age is clearly showing.

Gruden and the Raiders are expected to implement a run-heavy approach this season, which would seem to bode well for Lynch’s value. However, with Doug Martin now in town, the workload figures to be split. Oakland doesn’t want to run Lynch ragged and will want to get Martin involved as well.

We could also see a sprinkling of Jalen Richard or DeAndre Washington, depending on who makes the 53-man roster.

Either way, it’s not looking good for Lynch’s fantasy outlook. A second retirement is nearing for Beast Mode, who could be headed into his final NFL season. As age continues to be a factor, look for the Raiders to scale back his role. Luckily for him and his fantasy owners, I don’t see Oakland shying away from feeding him early and often in the red zone.
