1. The return of Andrew Luck

All three things to watch for the Colts end up being on the offensive side of the ball as the No. 1 thing to keep an eye on is Andrew Luck’s return to the field. It’s been a long time since he’s even been able to throw a ball, so all eyes will be on him.

The good news for Luck and the Colts though is the team believes there won’t be any limitations on his surgically repaired shoulder. According to general manager Chris Ballard (via Mike Wells of ESPN), it will be all about getting back into a rhythm and finding his timing again.

"“Andrew is an elite competitor and a pretty rare one,” Ballard said via Mike Wells of ESPN. “I think we’ve seen that during his career. I think it’s more of playing live football again. I don’t think there’s any mental restrictions. I think it’s more of getting the live reps versus live people. That’s the timing, getting used to moving in the pocket. All those are the things you have to get used to.”"

Expecting Luck to be in midseason form in their game against Seattle would be foolish. It’s still going to be important to see how he looks. Luck’s surgery took much longer to recover from than the team expected and he only recently started throwing again.

Members of the staff can say all they want that there will be no limitations, but that’s hard to believe. Aug. 9 will be the time for fans to start believing though.
