The defending Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles are ready to get back on the field. Here’s what to keep an eye out for in their first Preseason game

It’s that time of the year again where football is back in the limelight. No more talk about the draft, free agency or OTA’s. It’s officially time that the players can strap on their pads and go hit some opposing players. It’s been six long months since the Philadelphia Eagles celebrated their first-ever Super Bowl victory in Minneapolis.

Since then they have paraded through the streets of Philadelphia, spent time rehabbing and done everything possible to get ready for the season to start.

While everybody is anxious for Week 1 of the regular season, we’re going to have to settle for Week 1 of the preseason. Some people may say the preseason doesn’t mean anything, but for Eagles fans patiently waiting to celebrate their Super Bowl Champions this week’s matchup against the Steelers is exactly the prescription the doctor ordered!

Not too much has changed for the Eagles roster this offseason. They’ve added Mike Wallace and Michael Bennett to an already stellar squad. And they are looking forward to the return of injured players Carson Wentz, Darren Sproles, Jason Peters and Jordan Hicks among others.

The biggest changes to the Eagles this offseason were having to replace both their offensive coordinator Frank Reich and quarterbacks Coach John DeFilippo. Other than that, the men calling the plays on offense (Doug Pederson) and defense (Jim Schwartz) are back for more.

Everybody knows that Week 1 of the preseason is a game to get back into the swing of things where most of the big players play sparingly or not at all. Don’t get your hopes up to see Carson Wentz, but there still are things to keep an eye on during this game against the Steelers.
