Week 2: Carolina Panthers

It’s never a dull moment when these two NFC South rivals play, as this game features two quarterbacks who’ve been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player at some point in their careers. Needless to say, I’m expecting this Week Two match-up between the Falcons and Panthers to be a total nail-biter.

In recent history, the Falcons defense has seemed to have Cam Newton’s number, especially when he has to play on the road. Whether it’s the crowd noise or getting consistent pressure in his face, Atlanta’s defense has forced Newton to be erratic with the football. If Carolina wants any chance of winning this game in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, they’ll need their star quarterback to protect the ball.

At the end of the day, I think this match-up will come down to who has the football last. Matt Ryan has been extremely clutch in these types of moments against Carolina, and I foresee him breaking the hearts of Panthers-nation once again.

Starting the season with two-straight wins would be great for the Falcons, but as we’ve learned in the past, it’s just a start.

Final Score:

Carolina Panthers: 24, Atlanta Falcons (2-0): 27
