Week 9: at Washington Redskins

Call me crazy, but I think the Washington Redskins are going to be one of the most-underrated teams of the 2018-2019 season. Not only did they acquire veteran quarterback Alex Smith, but they also drafted running back Derrius Guice from LSU this past offseason. With two key pieces added to their offense for 2018, the Redskins will be very tough to beat at home.

While I do think the Falcons defense will be much better this year, I definitely don’t like their chances on Washington’s less-than-par field conditions. It always seems like players are slipping and falling every time there’s a game played at FedEx field.

While I’d love to blame this Falcons loss on terrible field conditions, it’ll be Washington’s defense who rises to the occasion in this one. Unless the Redskins lose the turnover battle, they’ll control the football and play keep-away with the high-flying Dirty Birds offense.

This will definitely be a tough loss for Atlanta, but again, not one they cannot overcome.

Final Score:

Atlanta Falcons (5-3): 16, Washington Redskins: 24
