The Dallas Cowboys face the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday, Aug. 9 in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

No NFL fan can deny the fact that the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers are two of the most historically successful franchises in the league. These are two teams that are measured by if they win the Super Bowl or not, and anything short of that is unacceptable to the front office, to the players and to the fans. And now these two great once-rivals will help to get things started in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason as they meet at Levi’s Stadium on Thursday night.

After a fantastic year in 2016, the Cowboys experienced a bit of a letdown last year in the second season with Dak Prescott as a starter. Of course, a big part of that was the Ezekiel Elliott suspension that both loomed over the team and cast a dark shadow and then affected them negatively while he was out. Now the team is moving forward, but without Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. As such, we’ll see how this offense is going to look without them.

In San Francisco though, it’s the start of the Jimmy Garoppolo era. After 49ers general manager John Lynch traded for the quarterback, it took a bit to get him to be named the starter. But once Jimmy G took over, there was no looking back. He went on to win every game he started and make expectations sky-high for the 2018 campaign as a result.
