Green Bay Packers 2018 Opponent Previews: Buffalo Bills
Week four of the NFL regular season will see the Green Bay Packers take on an AFC opponent for the first time. They will also wear their unappealing yet historic blue and gold throwbacks in the “third jersey game.”
After the Green Bay Packers got rid of their god-awful “Powerball” throwback jerseys, the team brought in a similar color scheme with their new alternates in 2015.
Since they changed to the more appealing (although still hard to look at) blue and gold, the Packers have struggled. If not for a game-saving deflection at the goal line by a rookie Damarious Randall, the Packers would be 0-3, including a pitiful 23-0 shutout last year to the Ravens, in the third jersey.
The Packers look for redemption in the throwbacks against a lowly Bills team. Despite making the playoffs last year, are on track to be one of the leagues worst teams in 2018.
Week 4 @ Lambeau Field
If the Buffalo Bills were to beat the Green Bay Packers, the defense would be the reason for that. Former Packer, Micah Hyde, leads one of the most underrated units in the NFL. It will be a very tough game to win, but if the Bills are able to completely shut down the Packers offense, anything is possible.
Now the odds of this happening are very slim. Shutting down Aaron Rodgers and his offense is the most daunting task to complete in football. The Packers offense is so dominant in so many ways.
The Bills offense, on the other hand, will be one of the worst in the NFL in 2018. LeSean McCoy will be the focal point of the offense and will be called upon to literally carry the team.
The quarterback situation is not good at all either. The job is up for grabs between Nathan Peterman and rookie Josh Allen.
Peterman is more experienced but will be forever remembered for his five interceptions in LA. Allen, on the other hand, may be the least pro-ready quarterback from the first round quarterbacks drafted in 2018.
Either way, it’s not looking good for the Bills. Having to play at Lambeau Field early in the season won’t help either. The Packers take this game easily and look to prepare for a tough stretch of games coming up.
Prediction: Packers win 31-10
