The New Orleans Saints face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Thursday, Aug. 9 in Week 1 of the 2018 NFL preseason. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

For the New Orleans Saints and the Jacksonville Jaguars, there’s a lot to talk about in terms of what might’ve been last season. The former can say that in regards to their heartbreaking Divisional Round loss to the Saints on the last play of the game. Meanwhile, the Jags can say it in regards to what if their offense had been a bit better in the AFC Championship Game as they challenged the Patriots.

That’s all in the past, however, and this is not a league where you look back. Rather, it’s a league where all you can do is look to the future and get ready. That’s what both the Saints and Jaguars are doing as they kick off their respective preseasons on Thursday night.

New Orleans hopes to compete in the NFC again this season. Drew Brees may be on the backside of his career, but his weapons may have never been better now that he has Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas with him. Throw in the fact that the Saints now have a young, talented defense, and this team is legit as they come out of the Big Easy.

As for the Jaguars, their defense is absolutely fierce, arguably the best overall unit in the league as they feature the likes of Jalen Ramsey, Myles Jack, Calais Campbell, Telvin Smith and so many more. On offense, Blake Bortles is always a question mark, but Leonard Fournette and bolstered line help shore things up.

Both the Saints and the Jaguars come into this game and the preseason with thoughts about building for a Super Bowl run this season. Obviously they aren’t going to win the Big Game on Thursday night. However, they can start laying the foundation for the things that could lead to that happening.
